Në fakt, ajo nuk mund të ketë sukses pa tre vendet e tjera. Nisma e Ballkanit të Hapur pasqyron gjithashtu edhe diçka nga Procesi i Berlinit, quajtur treg rajonal i përbashkët, ndaj ne mendojmë se janë plotësuese, ne mendojmë se çdo gjë që i sjell vendet më afër do të krijojë besim ndërmjet njerëzve, ndërsa do të krijojë edhe mundësi për lëvizje politike për disa nga çështjet. Pra, po, ne mbështesim të gjitha përpjekjet për t’i sjellë vendet më afër ekonomikisht. A duhet të ndodhë kjo? A duhet të kemi një treg rajonal, një treg të lirë midis gjashtë vendeve me njëzet milionë banorë dhe një ekonomi 125 miliardë dollarëshe, me ritme rritjeje deri në gjashtë apo shtatë për qind? Do të jetë një treg shumë, shumë tërheqës për kompanitë amerikane. ??️ | Deputy Assistant Secretary Gabriel Escobar made very clear the Biden Administration’s commitment to the Western Balkans during his testimony on U.S. Engagement in the region yesterday. “The leaders of the three countries that have explored the Open Balkans initiative have assured us that it is open to all six countries of the Western Balkans, and we believe them. In fact, it cannot succeed without the other three. This Open Balkans initiative also mirrors something under the Berlin Process called the common regional market, so we think that they are complementary, we think that anything that brings the countries closer together will create confidence among the people while it will create opportunities for political movement on some of the issues. So yes, we support all efforts to bring countries closer together economically. And by the way, should this happen? Should we get a regional market, a free market among six countries of twenty million people and 125-billion-dollar economy with growth rates upwards to six or seven percent? It will be a very, very attractive market for American companies.
